Edupreneurship: Year in Review 2021
In February 2021, we started Meetup Edupreneurship. Our motivation for starting a Meetup on the topic was a fascination with the intersection of entrepreneurship and education. It's actually pretty crazy and incredible what has come out of this interest in the subject. It evolved into a diverse topic area for Education Architects in terms of content. But first things first.
The Edupreneurship Meetups in February, March, and April were specifically about what edupreneurship is and how we want to approach it as a group. After three rounds, the following purpose crystallized:
Teachers, edupreneurs, and aspiring edupreneurs meet and share their own experiences, skills, and resources, and support each other on the edustartup journey.
Our highlights were the meetings held jointly with the Meetup group Tech and Humans as part of the Digital Days, which took place both on and offline. One of them was about collecting data in the context of school and lifelong learning:
The topic of edupreneurship really took off for us in May. On the one hand, together with the Impact Hub, we were able to hold talks with institutions in the region on the topic of entrepreneurship in schools. On the other hand, a pilot course on edupreneurship was created in partnership with the Intrinsic Campus. In the past few months, we have delved more intensively into the topic and today, in mid-December 2021, we can look back on a successfully conducted pilot semester on edupreneurship together with Intrinsic. Under the motto
Edupreneurs have a mission, are bold and connected multi-talents, share their entrepreneurial story, come from the education sector - or want to get in there ASAP
we have spent the last few weeks working with 11 students on their ideas for education and innovation. These were presented to an interested audience in great pitches last Friday.

How committed edupreneurs are to their projects and the edupreneur degree program is shown in this post.
For more insight into the work of Edupreneur Petra Marty, check out this conversation (German):
It was fascinating to see how committed and diverse the students' ideas and projects were. And at the same time, the need to make a difference in education was at the center of the joint work.

In addition to the collaboration with Intrinsic, a long-held desire to conduct an Edupreneurship Week with learners at a vocational school also came to fruition in December. We had been considering a pilot in spring 2020, which we had to cancel due to the initial Covid-19 lockdown. We were all the happier when an edupreneurship pilot week at Aprentas materialized in spring 2021 from the collaboration with the Impact Hub Basel and the Global Entrepreneurship Week. With 10 learners we discussed, worked on and finally presented their personally chosen challenges for one week.
In summary, we have found that the topic of edupreneurship holds a fascination for many people. In conversations, we repeatedly find that the name Edupreneur seems to trigger something, an interest, a fascination, inspiration?
